I am guilty.. So guilty of this..
To complain about our jobs.. When we should be blessed that we even have one to go to.
Complain about cleaning, when we should be blessed we have something to clean.
Complain about our kids, when we are blessed we even have ours.
We forget so much and take advantage of many things, not realizing how truly blessed we are.
My God must be getting frustrated and tired of our self pity and whining.
Shaking His head in disbelief
at how ungrateful we can become.
You see, He's been listening for a very long long time.
From the days of Moses, He listened to the people
constantly complain irregardless of how many miracles He performed. How ungrateful they still were after each time.
We have a tendency to forget so quickly the amazing things He pulls us from. As I read Deuteronomy this morning, I learned a few things..complain less, praise more. Also, to trust God. As I read, I saw Gods loving acts constantly, but the people refused to listen.
He told them to go get the land He promised them, but they rebelled, afraid.
After He did, they still didn't believe He could do this.
Then, after God punished them by telling them to stay where they were because of their lack of faith, they rebelled again!!
He warned them if they went to fight, He wouldn't be there this time.. They went anyways. People, if there is a lesson to learn it's in Deuteronomy.
When you feel a lack of faith in your God, be reminded by all He's done for you. So not become like the people in Moses day. Reach out and up..and grasp the hand of God, because it's right there waiting. Trust Him with each step you take and listen for His words of guidance. Never questioning, always trusting.
But you were afraid and didn't think the Lord could give us the land, so you rebelled against Him and refused to trust in what He could do for us.
The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place." In spite of this, you did not trust in the LORD your God, who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.
Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way.
