The day of frenzy and nothing seems to go right. Its these kind of days that I make sure, though crunched for time, that I squeeze in a chapter of the Bible to pull me through. I've learned through trial and error, if I don't, my day is AWFUL !!
Lets put this in perspective with a story from the Bible as an example.
There was one particular day that the waters were extra rocky, the wind blowing hard. Jesus was meant to join the disciples on the boat, but it had gone quite far from the shore. As they looked out onto the waters, there came a man walking on water. They panicked and became shaken with fear, crying out that it must be a ghost.
Jesus calm words calling out to them, telling them it was just Him..
27 But Jesus quickly spoke to them. He said, “Don’t worry! It’s me! Don’t be afraid.”
28 Peter said, “Lord, if that is really you, tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 Jesus said, “Come, Peter.”
Then Peter left the boat and walked on the water to Jesus. 30 But while Peter was walking on the water, he saw the wind and the waves. He was afraid and began sinking into the water. He shouted, “Lord, save me!”
31 Then Jesus caught Peter with his hand. He said, “Your faith is small. Why did you doubt?”
Its this moment, when Peter took his eyes of his Lord, that he fell. Its this story that reminds me why I need to read His word each day, no matter how hectic it can be. It could turn out just like Peter...if I take my eyes off of Him for just a day even, I could fall. My faith could shatter. For this time, this day, I need His word to help me keep my eyes on Him. This is why it is so important to always spend each moment with Him.
Now for our green smoothie for the day- not so green actually but with all the power punch of greenness ;)
This is a blueberry banana smoothie and is pretty killer also. ;)
First make sure to use frozen blueberries and frozen chopped bananas if you can, and freeze your packet ahead of time.
Toss them all together and blend to enjoy! =)
1 cup blueberries
1tsp flax seed
1 cup kale
1 6oz container of greek blueberry yoghurt
1/2 cup soy milk
1/2 cup green tea
1-2TB stevia/agave(sweeten to taste preference)
