I love love love handpsun yarn. The twists and various fibers blended together create something so unique and special.
Just the turn of a crochet needle and touch of the yarn creates a special excitement inside me. I love the way the yarn feels as I work, creating
something one of kind. The colors blending together as the yarn combines is truly stunning.
The thick and thin fiber, combined as you work, create something strong and durable.
Before easily broken, intertwined together, are strong.
This is like our lives with Christ and also any other relationship. Where we may be weak, others can be strong..combined together, help us
to be strong too. It takes the Holy Spirits love in our lives to make this happen. To shine forth like a beacon of light in the night.
There was one verse that stood out to me in Gods words this weekend as I read my devotional.
1 Corinthians 7:14
The Message (MSG)
12-14 For the rest of you who are in mixed marriages—Christian married to non-Christian—we have no explicit command from the Master. So this is what you must do. If you are a man with a wife who is not a believer but who still wants to live with you, hold on to her. If you are a woman with a husband who is not a believer but he wants to live with you, hold on to him. The unbelieving husband shares to an extent in the holiness of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is likewise touched by the holiness of her husband. Otherwise, your children would be left out; as it is, they also are included in the spiritual purposes of God.
So...this made me think about my handspun yarn. That, through Christ in our lives, we can show others who Christ is. If we find ourselves like this verse, with someone whose beliefs are not where ours are, that we can be an influence on them. In each way we act or talk..we share Christ to them. Because they may not be where we are does not mean we toss them to the side or have nothing to do with them. We need to hold on to them. To shower them with love as Christ does with us.
I love how it shares that the unbelieving wife is likewise "touched" by the holiness of her husband.
This simple act of love can touch others in our lives, the "unbelievers".By sharing our joy of the love of Christ by what we say and do..we, like, the husband, can touch others around us.
We should always be willing and open for Holy Spirit to work in our lives and as we weave our lives to be more like our Fathers, the fibers woven together will create something so glorious and strong, that not
even the devil can break it.
