How much more is this true with our lives with God. Our walk with Him. We can go about our days just like Isaiah 58 states, fasting or seeking God, but then still do as they want. To talk about how important He is...but not give
Him 100%. To miss out on the true amazing relationship of God. He asks us to die of self, to share our homes with the hungry and open them to the poor travelers. Give clothes to those who have nothing. He promises that if we just honor Him,His commandments, and truly let Him into our hearts..to let go of all of our selfish desires.
Stop oppressing people, pointing fingers and talking evil of others..then the darkness that surrounds us, the selfishness in our lives, will become as light as day.
(Pulled from Isaiah 58)
Oh the promises He says He will give us, the strength to carry on. The peace that will fill our hearts. The love that will spill over.
I urge you to read Isaiah 58 today. To hear for yourself His desires for each of us..
Do what God’s teaching says; don’t just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves. Hearing God’s teaching and doing nothing is like looking at your face in the mirror and doing nothing about what you saw. You go away and immediately forget how bad you looked. But when you look into God’s perfect law that sets people free, pay attention to it. If you do what it says, you will have God’s blessing. Never just listen to his teaching and forget what you heard.
