So...the final action. The final completion of joy in my life. What do I do with it once I achieve it?
I want to share an example with you. Lets talk about long distance relationships in comparison.
They take work, right? Alot of work. They are hard and you miss the person so much during the times your apart from them.
There were moments where you wonder what on earth are you thinking, dating someone thats so far from you.
Ive heard some say its impossible to carry on a long distance relationship. Its too hard.
My parents are proof that it isnt. My mom met my dad while she was staying in Florida but it was but temporary as she lived in North Dakota.
Hows that for a long distance? Back then, they didnt have emails or text..or face time. They didnt have cell phones with unlimited talk..
but they did have letters and cards. My dad, a hopeless romantic, showered my mom with them. She had no chance. There is a trash bag fullllll of letters
and cards written to her. It was through constant communication with these, that they grew a stronger relationship. A love. A love, to this day,
that even through hard times, keeps them together. It was through writing and learning about each other, that to now, they have been married for
over 37yrs. So...I would say, with watching them, that long distance relationships can and do work. You just have to be willing to put the effort
into it and the patience. So..tell me, what does this have to do with joy? Well, God is a long distance relationship too.
We cant be with Him everyday in the physical sense, but we get to talk to Him all the time. We have the unlimited talk and text with God.
He loves to listen to how our days are going. As I go about my day, I talk to Him almost all the way through it. When you see me talking to myself..
alot of times its actually God I am muttering to. As I talk more and more with Him..the joy grows. It bubbles over. It is through this constant communication, that the joy starts to change inside me and shower others around me. Communication..and sharing. Thats the next step. To constantly commune with
our Lord and then as His love overflows..His joy so abundant, we cant help but share it with others. Not by browbeating anyone into our beliefs, but
through our joy. God is the master gardener. He will prune the thorns away and guide the people in the right direction. Its not
our job. If we try to fix people and their problems, you will only push them farther away. Let God do the work. Let your joy be the only thing
you use to bring people to Christ. Its this that changes peoples lives. It was my mothers joy that brought me to Christ. It was seeing other
peoples joy that brought me to Christ. It is this that will save your friends and family. Let your walk be evident and the joy of Christ
pour out. God is so so AWESOME! How can you not shout to the world of His amazing grace. So..that's your job today. That's my job today. Talk to Him more..
keep Him on speed dial. Ask for His joy to shine forth in each step you take. Ask for the opportunity to share your joy with someone else. Also, the eyes to see, ears to hear, and mind be willing to not miss out on the opportunity, when He does.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for YOU"
