I wanted to be the most popular, with perfect skin, body, personality, and more. What it brought was depression, anger, loneliness, and fear.
I took any kind of pill or drug to stay the perfect size, even to the point of bulimia ...I tried to change my personality and my ways to be the perfect girl..
To this day, I feel sad for the young girl that missed out in life because of what this world showed her. The misconception of perfection. As we grow older, it continues on. People chase after the perfect husband or wife, causing many divorces along the way. Strive for the perfect house or car, working too much and not getting to enjoy life and their family like they should.
Strive for the perfect body causing sickness and even death from taking diet pills or not eating/bulimia. Strive for the best of clothes and jewelry, causing debt you can't pay.
I see a world of miserable people.
I was in that world. I learned, through Christ's love, that no one is perfect. The only One who is and can give complete happiness and peace is God.
One can strive to fill that void, thinking that all they need is a certain thing or goal then they can be happy. What they don't know is that when you chase and chase, irregardless of what you have, you'll always want more. You'll never be complete. How do I know this? This was me..what do I know now? That I don't need a big house or a lot of things, or a elite job..or to be popular..because I have my God.
I don't need to be popular..because God is my biggest fan(and my kids)
I don't need a big house, because Gods building one for me in Heaven
I don't need a perfect body, for in heaven I will have one..until then I just need to take care of what He has given me today.
I like me now..I like the quirky, energetic, constantly going, nerdy, crafty, mom, daughter, and sister that I am.
This is what God has done for me.. To love me for me.
10 Those who love money will never be satisfied with the money they have. Those who love wealth will not be satisfied when they get more and more. This is also senseless.
11 The more wealth people have, the more “friends” they have to help spend it. So the rich really gain nothing. They can only look at their wealth.
12 Those who work hard all day come home and sleep in peace. It is not important if they have little or much to eat. But the rich worry about their wealth and are not able to sleep.
13 There is a very sad thing that I have seen happen in this life.People save their money for the future.14 Then something bad happens and they lose everything. So they have nothing to give to their children.
15 People come into the world with nothing. And when they die, they leave with nothing. They might work hard to get things, but they cannot take anything with them when they die. 16 It is very sad that people leave the world just as they came. So what does a person gain from “trying to catch the wind”? 17 They only get days that are filled with sadness and sorrow. In the end, they are troubled, sick, and angry.
Now..along the subject of perfection comes these 4 little cuties that were lost among my fruit basket..
The poor things looked sad and weary, and no one was tempted to reach out and eat one anymore.
So, feeling inspired, I packed them up in a smoothie bag to try them out.
AWESOME. Just because something may not look so pretty doesnt mean it isnt still packed with some sweet citrus goodness. This one reminded me of the Orange creamsicles we all so love..but with a lot more healthiness in them..
The ingredients as follows(also dont be afraid to let a little orange skin make it in the bag..it leaves a more pungent orange taste).
Orange Dream Delight
4 cuties/peeled frozen(and some of the peel )
2 bananas chopped and frozen
1 cup kale
1/2-1 cup coconut milk(or almond/soy if you dont have it)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 container greek yogurt(or about 2TB non dairy creamer if your in a pinch)
2-3TB stevia or agave(to taste)
