The birds were singing joyfully and I could hear my daughters laughter as she played with our two dogs. The dogs were barking and running around, happy to be outside.
The flowers were out in full bloom, the sweet smell wafting through the air.
As I listened to all the sounds around me, I thought about how this could be taken as an example for my life. The birds, the laughter..it all is something we need to live by. As we listen to the birds singing their songs, how much more shouldn't we be like them? Instead of words of drudgery and sadness, shouldn't we be more contagious with words of happiness and joy.
Like I was explaining to my Maddie yesterday, that in how we live and say things, it can be passed on to others. Do we want to pass on words of bitterness or anger? To pass on the dark cloud to make others miserable with us? To whine and bemoan life? Or be like the birds..singing joyfully. Speaking and acting with words of happiness and love. To pass on a smile to another. To turn another's anger to happiness. When someone is mean to you or is bitter, just smile and respond instead of react. To hug someone in sadness and give them strength and encouragement. I want to be like the birds always..to sing of my Saviors redemption..to sing of His love and grace. I believe He gave us the birds and the flowers around us to help remind us to smile more and complain less...To rejoice..
Psalm 104:12 ESV
Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches.
Now as for the green smoothie for the day..something sweet to bring on that smile ;)
This one is really; yummy as one of my favorite fruits is mango. One time I went out into the mission field for 3 weeks to Cuba..ever since then, I have never had a mango as good as they were there. The people there were so friendly and happy, irregardless of how little they had. They sang like the birds, at the top of their lungs...even though some out of tune, they didnt care, And because of the happiness that radiated from them, the singing sounded musical. Your heart swelled, their happiness contagious They truly knew the meaning of to sing like the birds. To show happiness no matter what the circumstance.
